Brothers and sisters in the Lord, the word of the Lord teaches in Ephesians 6:12 that we are engaged in a wrestling match

Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

 

Wrestling here in Greek means

palē

 

pal'-ay From πάλλω pallō (to vibrate; another form for G906); wrestling: - + wrestle.

 

ballō

 

bal'-lo A primary verb; to throw (in various applications, more or less violent or intense)

 

The word wrestle here indicates a violent struggle between two opposing fighters eager to throw the other down in a violent manner. This is the fight that the believer engages in once we come into the Kingdom of God. Wrestling requires commitment and training in order to defeat your enemy. The Spirit of the Lord has directed us to come into an agreement with him in this season to bring him into remembrance every time we step into the arena of wrestling. Our common enemy is already defeated and it is our duty to enforce the victory that we already have here on earth.
